The woodturning workshop of the company Kuhnert is set amidst the idyllic landscape of the Saxon Vogtland, close to the German Ore Mountains. The former hobby of the family Kuhnert was converted into a career when the company “Drechslerei Kuhnert” was founded in 1986. The products made by Kuhnert had success right from the start, so that the company has meanwhile enlarged significantly, giving work to many people in the region. Thus, not only the product range but also the size of the workshop rooms continued to grow rapidly. Several moves and expansions were necessary throughout the years. Nowadays the whole production takes place in the company’s headquarter in Rothenkirchen (Steinberg) in 2010. In large production halls both traditional and modern techniques are applied to constantly create new designs and motifs. The assortment of the company Kuhnert includes all the traditional items such as Smokers, Christmas Pyramids and Angels, but also many other motives such as Easter decorations, chandeliers, intricate tree ornaments and other modern decorative items have been developed over the years.

A real specialty is a new generation of Kuhnert pyramids developed in 2006, showing two impellers and two platforms which rotate in different directions! Other very popular objects implementing new ideas are the Kuhnert rabbits (created in 2001) with moveable arms and legs made of rattan, or the series of Kuhnert “smoking owls” we are pleased to offer here.
